A new season of activity

With the end of summer comes new schedules for all of us. The biggest change for me of course is that the kids are in school during the day. Lots of other things start up too.

Krista has volunteered to teach 1st grade Sunday school this year. Abby has joined "The Wave", the church program for 5th and 6th grade. It is a fun group, and she seems to like it. Gabe goes to his sunday school class as well. Both kids have started a new year of kids choir too.

I have started a new year of choir at church. We have a lot of big things planned this year including Christmas, Easter play, 4th of July services, and a International night with choirs from ethnic churches here in Minneapolis. I am now one of the Section leaders for the Bass/Baritone section and look forward to trying to get these guys to know each other better.

I also am continuing to volunteer on our Public Safety team at church. We provide security and response to emergencies on Sunday and during special events. Just the other night I worked a concert at church by two good Christian bands, Jars of Clay and PFR. We love to hold these large events at Grace Church. It is wonderful to bring in people that have never been to our church as this makes it easier for them to come back for a Sunday service.

Abby has started piano lessons again with our good friend Ruth Fries. Both Abby and Gabe are taking swimming lessons once per week at Foss Swim School. Abby loves it and Gabe is trying not to drown, which I guess is the point. Abby has started another year of dance at The DanceXchange. She is taking two classes back to back and always loves it.

Golf is winding down for the year. I played three 18 hole rounds this year, but all three were with Krista so all were good. I played at Edinburgh USA in Brooklyn Park, Willinger's in Northfield, and Troy Burne in Hudson Wisconsin. Krista had a good year playing a lot of golf. She played in many State tournaments and won her club championship at Edinburgh.
