Weekend of roofing

What a weekend! It is Monday morning and I am still a bit stiff from all of the physical labor over the last two days. The house remodel that we are doing is continuing and this weekend was my turn to do some work. We ripped off all of the old TWO layers of stuff from the roof and reshingled the house. We still have the new addition to shingle and the garage to rip off and put on the new. Great progress was made mostly due to the great friends and family that came to help.

This weekend could not have happened without the following people:

Jay Fries
Joel Fries
Gaylord Fries
Thom Larsen
Scott Reuterfeldt
John Bogle

Special thanks go to Jay for knowing how to roof a house and leading the crew.

More work is yet ahead for me and my helpers. Other than finishing the roofing, I still need to prepare and install woodwork in the house, lay a new wood floor in the addition, and do some other small jobs related to the project. Today the hired contractors are here finishing up some of the main carpentry work in the addition.

Thanks again to all who have helped so far, and to their families for letting them be here.

Later.
